NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle's auction of Post-War & Contemporary Art on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 11am will present important paintings and sculpture by some of the 20th and 21st centuries' most prominent artists. Encompassing works by American, European, Latin American and Asian artists, the offerings span artistic movements from Abstract Expressionism, Op Art, Pop Art and Minimalism, moving through Color School and Photorealism to Contemporary Realism and works by emerging artists.

Featured artists include Elaine de Kooning, Lynne Drexler, Freidel Dzubas, Helen Frankenthaler, Yayoi Kusama, Sol LeWitt, Barry McGee, William Pope.L, Tom Wesselmann and Martin Wong.

In June 2021, Doyle set a World Auction Record for March Avery when Afternoon in Italy, 1971-72, achieved a record $37,800. The May 8 auction offers three exceptional works by March Avery from a Main Line Collector. Read More
