A group of seventeenth and eighteenth-century French books, mostly in contemporary bindings

A Group of approximately forty seventeenth and eighteenth-century French books, almost all in contemporary bindings; including, [LA ROCHEFOUCAULD]. Memoires… Cologne: 1663. Third edition. Later blue morocco gilt spine and corners, marbled paper boards, 5 x 2 3/4 inches (13 x 7 cm); [4], 400 pp. Spine faded, light wear to extremities, bookplate; together with, [PIERRE COSTAR]. Défense des Ouvrages de Monsieur de Voiture. Paris: Augustin Courbé, 1653. Presentation inscription from the author to the Bishop of Angers, with four manuscript corrections in the author's hand in the text. Contemporary mottled calf. [8], 176 pp. Bumping and wear to extremities, large stain to rear board, contents unevenly toned with the occasional spot, Jesuit library stamp to title, nonetheless quite a sound copy; JEAN BAPTISTE DE MONICART. Versailles Immortalisé… Paris: Etienne Ganeau et Jacque Quillau, 1720. 2 volumes. Modern calf gilt, marbled paper boards. Engraved plates. Light wear, front joint of volume one starting, contents occasionally toned or spotted, with a dampstain to upper margin at the beginning of volume one, bookplate; TALON. Memoires de M. Omer… La Haye: Gosse & Neaulme, 1732. 8 volumes; Calf; BLONDEL. Cours D’architecture ou Traite… Paris: Desaint, 1771. 9 volumes, including six text volumes, and three plate volumes. Contemporary mottled calf gilt, edges stained red. Engraved plates, many of which are folding. Light wear, a few chips to headcaps, a few joints starting, occasional toning and spotting to contents; OMER TALON. Memoires du feu... La Haye: Gosse & Neaulme, 1732. 8 volumes. Contemporary speckled calf gilt. Wear to extremities, wormholes in calf, occasional spotting and staining; NICOLAS FOUQUET. [Collected works]. No place: no publisher, 1665-1668. 13 volumes. Contemporary vellum, yapp edges. Light to moderate soiling and wear, some volumes with stains to vellum, contents generally bright; DE LA QUINTINYE. Instructions pour les Jardins... Paris: La Compagnie des Libraires Associes, 1756. 2 volumes. Early nineteenth-century calf spines gilt, with green leather spine labels, speckled paper over boards. Engraved plates. Rubbing and wear to boards and spines, part of the headcap of volume 1 almost detached, contents unevenly toned; and with, Three other titles in four volumes.
