With a Vindication of the Ancient Way of Parliaments in England. Collected from Some Manuscript Notes of John Selden by Nathaniel Bacon of Grays Inn, Esquire. London: Printed for John Starkey, 1689 (dated 1682 on the section-titles). Fourth edition. Two volumes bound as one, old paneled calf. 12 7/8 x 7 5/8 inches (32.75 x 19.5 cm); [xx], 203; [v]; 168, 167-188, [6] pp. (pagination irregular but textually complete). Binding wear, rather crudely rebacked, scattered toning and foxing to the first few leaves, lower corner creased in the first four signatures. Bookplate of Lucius O'Brien, 5th Baronet Inchiquin.

Several times suppressed (as is described on the first leaf, signed in type by the publisher), this is an important work on the history of English law.
