A well-bound Luneburg Bible dated 1707

Biblia. Das ist: die gantzes heilige schrift D. Martin Luthers... Luneberg: J. Stern, 1707. Bound in a handsome German brown morocco binding of the period, elaborately gilt, all edges gilt with gauffering, endpages with paste and gilt papers. 8 3/8 x 5 1/2 inches (21 x 14 cm); [44], 359, 257, 180 ff.; with engraved frontispiece and title, inserted engraved section titles to each of the Biblical books, etc. The joints worn, losses to the top compartment of the spine, the text and plates apparently complete, but sold as a binding, not subject to return. Full-page ownership inscription dated 1792 on the first recto of the first blank.
