NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle held a successful auction of Fine Art on June 16, 2026 that far surpassed expectations amid international bidding. The sale showcased an exciting diversity of affordable paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture spanning the late 19th through the 20th centuries. Exciting opportunities abound in this popular auction category for seasoned buyers and new collectors alike!

A highlight of the sale was Paul Resika’s (b. 1928) Provincetown Pier—Guardi from 1984 that realized $32,000, many times its $5,000-8,000 estimate. In this tonalist painting from the Estate of Susann Kelly Kurz, who acquired the work in 1985, Resika pays homage to the Venetian views of the 18th century master Francesco Guardi with an atmospheric vision of Provincetown, Massachusetts, a community long associated with the artist. Also performing strongly was Isaac (Itshak) Jack Holtz's (Polish/American, 1925–2018) depiction of The Wailing Wall from 1978 that soared over its estimate to achieve an impressive $35,200. Holtz studied at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem before continuing his training in New York at the Art Students League under Robert Brackman and Harry Sternberg, and at the National Academy of Design with Robert Philipp. In 2022, Doyle set the world auction record for a work by Holtz at $50,400.
