Late nineteenth century blue cloth boards. the front pastedown signed by Bartlett. 8 x 5 inches (20.5 x 13.25 cm); 67 pp., with 12 pp supplement. Soiling and wear to boards, losses to cloth at spine ends, front board detatched, title page with marginal tears, losses at corners, ink and pencil annotations, contents lightly toned, the occasional spot or stain, the letter with a few spots near bottom edge, signature of Edward Bartlett on front pastedown.

The catalog is accompanied by an illustrated letter to noted ornithologist Edward Bartlett from an A. S. Butler, likely the English ornithologist Arthur Bulter. The letter describes two species of birds, including the Euplectes franciscanus, or Northern Red Bishop, and the Black Headed Munia, which the writer notes, "were brought back from Calcutta by my sister, Dr. Fanny Butler," the first fully trained English woman doctor to practice medecine in India.
