After a design by Louis-Simon Boizot, late 19th Century
Modelled as a young boy and girl allegorical of L'Etude and La Philosophie, each seated on an Egyptian oil-lamp with a spout to one end and gadrooned body, on spreading socle and square base.
The plinths pierced for electrity.
Height 13 inches (33 cm), width 14 1/2 inches (37 cm).
