Map of Three Pieces of Salt Meadow on the East River near Manhattan Island belonging to Abijah Hammond Esqr. and Colonel H. Rutgers shewing therein the Avenues & Streets as laid out by the Commissioners for laying out the Island. Manuscript map in ink on joined sheets, with "Original March 11th AD 1815/Plot Surveyed by Bridges & Poppleton" in ink at lower right. The map is backed. 20 1/2 x 28 inches (52 x 72 cm). Split where joined and losses to these fold point extremities, stains and dust soiling, tears and other losses to corners and edges, later markings within the image; Together with another version of the same map, in color, but with losses. 21 x 28 inches (54 x 70 cm). Losses to right margin costing most of imprint and border.
