[vi], 474, [x] pp. Some toning and foxing, one leaf with a short repair, Bar Association stamps on title; Together with the second edition, title as the previous work (spelling corrected). Nashville: printed and sold by Thomas G. Bradford, 1809. 20th century cloth with leather spine labels. 8 5/8 x 5 inches (22 x 12.5 cm); [iv], 474, lxxiii, [iii] pp., with the appendix volume The Laws of North Carolina and Tennessee, Respecting Vacant Lands and Deeds, which are no longer in force, but necessary to the investigation of Land Titles in Tennessee, Intended to serve as an Appendix to Haywood's Revised Laws, 136, xxv pp., with folding plate bound in at the rear. Some toning and foxing, Bar Association stamps on title.
The first listed work is apparently the first book printed in Nashville; at one time this was held to be Duty and authority of justices of the peace in the State of Tennessee, Nashville, Bradford, 1810, but the present work is advertised in that, and clearly precedes it. HRS Tennessee 1793 to 1840 36, 44, 45 (for the appendix).
