A large miscellany of Americana pamphlets
, comprising over one hundred pamphlets bound into fourteen volumes, mostly 19th but including some late 18th and early 20th century titles, various places, publishers, dates and formats, a few containing maps, charts or original wrappers. Sizes vary, the largest volume 10 x 6 inches. Many volumes with a typed contents listings although some pamphlets not present, extracted or disbound, stamps, wear, repairs and losses, note that there is no inventory of these pamphlets and thus the lot should be seen, sold as is.
This interesting and large lot includes volumes on habeas corpus during the Civil War, President Lincoln and executive power, Kansas, The Mexican-American War, a volume of 19th century trials, a volume devoted to the Wheeling Bridge case, many pamphlets on slavery, the Dred Scott decision, militia laws, New York Supreme Court rules, various works regarding Native Americans, the annexation of Texas, Hawaii, and Alaska, etc. Includes William Duane's Mississippi Question, 1803; Grey's A serious address to such of the people called Quakers, 1798; Militia Laws of the United States and ... Massachusetts, 1824; and many others. The lot fourteen volumes.
