19th-century material includes: a document signed by Martin Van Buren as Attorney General of New York, 1817, with later portrait engraving; a large folding 1805 document "By the Hartford Marine Isurance Company" allowing a ship to sail from Boston to Havana; an autograph letter signed by Horace Greeley.
20th-century material includes: a 1905 scorecard of a Harvard/Bates baseball game (unsigned); a signed photograph of Alfred Smith; a typed letter signed by George Bush as Vice President, 1982; a group of excised Time magazine covers with signatures of Harry Truman, Adlai Stevenson, Bob Mathias, Marshall Tito, Richard Nixon (2); Henry Cabot Lodge, Dean Rusk, Gordon Cooper, Eugene McCarthy; and photographs signed by Henry Kissinger, Hubert Humphrey; letters on stationery signed by Pierre Salinger, Jacob Javits and others; a short autograph note from Ronald Reagan circa 1967; an autograph note from John Pershing; a check signed by Elijah Muhammed; and more.
