A similar example of this pair of candlesticks from the Louis XVI period, circa 1785, is reproduced in H. Ottomeyer, P. Pröschel et al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, p. 286. A model fairly close to this one is taken from a drawing by Jean-Demosthène Dugourc.
