NEW YORK, NY – Doyle is honored to present at auction Peale Family Paintings from the Estate of J. Ashley & Pamela Patterson Roach on Wednesday, April 14, 2026 at 10am, as a feature of the American Paintings & Prints sale.

This remarkable and historic collection comprises paintings and related materials from the Estate of J. Ashley and Pamela Patterson Roach, descendants of Charles Willson Peale, his son Rubens, and granddaughter, Mary Jane.

Among the highlights are paintings by the aforementioned artists as well as works by Rembrandt Peale and Anna Claypoole Peale. Besides landscapes and still lifes there are a number of portraits of the Peale family by the Peale family. These intimate paintings capture the familial love that the Peales held for each other and also acknowledge their shared understanding of their legacy as America’s premiere family of artists. Doyle is pleased to offer this fine and important group of paintings as a part of our Spring American sale celebrating our country’s 250-year anniversary.
